I haven`t used Ancestry for a while. It all seems to have changed and I have been really frustrated trying to understand what is going on. If I search for someone I get 100s of names and it seems impossible to choose from births, marriages or deaths. Hope this is making sense to someone! Is it possible to go back to the old way of searching? I know this new way works sometimes and then it is great but when it doesn`t it drives me mad. Please can someone help

Do advanced search and tick the exact boxes - this helps shorten the list for any searches. FreeBMD I find best for looking for birth marriages and deaths. Irene

Thanks Irene, Will have a go. Have tried BMD but they only go up to certain dates and I was looking for a marriage in 1940. Sandra

Go to home page

Then on right go to Birth, Marriage and Death Indexes

Choose Marriages 1916-2005 transcribed

Enter the info, if you are confident of spellings you can tick the "exact" box
