Lou , if you join the lancashire library online, it will give you free acess to many 18th and 19th century newspapers, The Times digital archives ,infact stacks of info.....you may find gr grandfathers obituary notice, I have found loads of mine......

Hi Allan, thanks for that. I had tried googling for Throapham as that's where he's apparently buried, but couldn't find anything, even tried to search for the church so that I could ask them for detials, but again no luck, so will try your suggestions,

I was going to suggest the "Halifax Courier & Guardian" but looking at a map that's a bit far away. Your best bet would be something published in Rotherham or possibly Doncaster.
If you google for papers in those places you may get a historical list, or if you find current ones, if they don't go back that far they may know whaqt was published then.
Or, of course, you could contact the main libraries in Rotherham and Doncaster.

Hi, Can anyone please tell me the name of any local newspaper in the 1920's for Throapham, West Riding, Yorkshire please. I'm trying to find if there was an obituary notice for my gt grandfather.
