I am none too sure either, but interested to compare with a Royal Navy record. I think that he signed on for 12 years in 1926 but deserted in October 1930 from the Penguin. Probably need to see the ships log for the Penguin if this is possible.

Hi,

I found an electronic record on the National Archives of Australia site and I can't make sense of it. I was wondering if there was anyone who might be able to view the record and do a transcript of the information for me.

The record is the Navy Service record for William James Charles Rice. The link to the record is:
