no more info they went to canada and we know nothing else he was in the royal navy thats why he was at that address i have been trying for a long time but need to give up the ghost on them and concentrate on the older ones i would have liked to have found out a wee bity more about him but alas i think i have hit a brick wall thanks to all isabel x

Do you have contact with other family members? If not it might be possible to trace them through his wife's name. I know it may seem very long-winded but other people often have bits of the jigsaw.
This is a very strange address isn't it!

i have marriage cert they married 28th feb 1948 her name isabella mccutcheon his robert brown his address given as union jack club lambeth his father william but i would need his mums name to go further

Well, unusual names have a lot of benefits but there is one thing with a name like Brown - it is a lot less likely to get mis-transcribed!
Do not despair, I have been researching the name Smith and it has been OK, so anything is possible!
If you are looking 1901 and before it is obviously much easier.
As Kath says, let us know the details.

Where or when was the marriage? Can you find the family on any census which might give clues?

hi can anyone tell me when you have a common name like brown i have marriage certificate but it only lists the father how do you find the mother only have year when he was born so it is a nightmare thanks
