the number you quote I think is the Register number and not the District reference

the registration Number I have is B 78C but still can't work out which of the Newports it refers to.

Is there anyway that i can check where a place is by the district code on a death certificate. I have found one which states place of death as Newport, but which one? the district code is 836 1B
