What is the point?

I have just located two of my rellies (husband and wife) on a tree on Ancestry. They are in complete isolation (no parents, siblings or children), no resources, they are just lurking there amongst more than 7,000 other names.

I really wonder if there is any point to it. I can understand saving and parking people to be investigated later but I would always include a source so I know why I was interested in them.

Rather like on here when I asked how someone was related to someone in my family and was told not at all, just investigating.

Jonesey, your comment reinforces my view. We are all capable of making errors but it does tickle me when I see children added to trees who are the same child but the Christian name has been altered to the middle or pet name on a census. You would have thought the birth year might have given them a hint!

Edit: lol I'd have told them to go investigate elsewhere ;-)
