adding a partner to my tree

Hi

two sisters married two brothers. I added the first brother and his parents to my tree. I added the second brother as a child to his parents. I now want to add this existing brother as a partner to the second sister. Does anyone know how to do this? Any time I try to add a partner it creates a new person in my tree.

The GR tree won't let you. You have to enter twice as you have found. Put a note agauinst the names to cross reference the duplication.

You can set up this sort of relationship correctly using software such as FTM (Family Tree Maker) but even uploading this to GR won't solve the problem entirely as the GR display can't handle this sort of relationship.
