think i have just sent message to wrong board just in case i have that info from lennon and wyle i also traced mary ann's sis she is on it,it gave me her husbands name i found he stood witness with william mc clure to the wedding of my g/grandmother elizabeth doggart, so if all else fails i will follow mary anns sis tree to see if i can find out what happened to her. william mc cure is buried in new jersey he had dau named mary anne fisher i don't know why but i take that as maybe a bit of defiace may be wrong as it was done thing naming after family but i do believe there was some family fall out, i found a few doggarts, in new jersey local to were william mc clure is buried one being name mc clur doggart so i wrote to them but never got a reply i should not have told them i was coming over may think i am after a freebee hoping to find a clue on the grave . horatios 2nd wife margaret, is buried in the family grave there are two of them in movilla cem newtownards but no mary, she may be buried in bangor by her parents, horatio did live in court st and they had a son horatio james sorry if posted twice thanks again any help welcom

This is from "The Witness" Newspaper August 1874....you probably have the details already but no matter.....

DOGGART--PATTERSON--August 24, at the First Presbyterian Church, Newtownards, by the Rev. George Hughes William M'Clure Doggart, Belfast, to Mary, second daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Patterson, Newtownards.

Terry...Have just found Wms.Marriage to Mary Patterson1874 and confirms Horatio J. Doggart as Father so that answers the query ......

Afternoon Terry.....Have been on the search for Mary with no success...Was Mgt.Mc.definately a second wife to Horatio...I have found notes re. them but Horatio is listed as Horatio J. Doggart..

Horatio J. DOGGART . Newtownards of Court Street, Newtownards; leased a house, workroon, yard & small garden from William Dobbyn in 1863; handloom weaver, Precentor; husband of Margaret McCormac; father of male child b. 1 Jun 1865 & Margaret b. 28 Oct 1867 & Frederick b. 30 Aug 1869;death notice 11 May 1889 .

hi erin yes they stayed in newtownards area n/ireland, horatio, became i think town clerk for a term,mary had three kids to him james, elizabeth, and william mc clure, i have pics of the family graves in movilla cem in newtownards but no mention of mary,. horatio married margaret mc cormick her name is mentioned on a few sites with horatio but mary not a mention apart from the doggart dossier i have. my grandmother elizabeth or lizzie suposedly run away to get married and her brother stood for her, i get the feeling the family broke up after the marriage what ever happened ? wiliam moved to new jerey were he is buried i am going over in oct for a holiday so i will have a look were he is buried she may have gone with him and buried their i cannot find any links in ireland to what happened to her hope i am not getting to heavy

Evening Terry...I would be suprised if Mary and Horatio Divorced...more likely she died...Did they stay in N.I after they married...?
What were the childrens names of the marriage ?

thanks erin i am ok on the doggarts i have a 990 name dossier on the family and 45 family trees, not done by me i was lucky enough to get a copy from a retired pathologist mary anne, was only married to horatio for about 9 yrs and had three children one being my g/ grandmother , i am trying to find out what happened to her did she die, or divorced,horatio married again and had bout 7 more children . i have a copy of marriage cert it is 1847 but mistakes are made ? thanks again

Terry.....Just shows how mistakes are made in transcribing... (note this year of marriage)

Plenty on the Doggarts...they were from Newtownards.

Miss Mary Anne FISHER . Bangor.Daughter of James Fisher ;aged 18 married Horatio Doggart 8 Nov 1848 (CR)=Church Record.

Havent found anything relating to her father as yet...
