Do you have her parents' or at least father's name? Might be worth looking for them, especially if child born near to 1871 as women quite often went home to Mum when they had a baby!

Preston seems to be the only place in Lancashire that is known to be missing from the 1871.

I cannot find a John Roberts/Mary Roberts marriage in 1868. Are you sure her maiden name was Roberts?

Can someone please look at the following and give me their thoughts as my head is weel and truley stuck !!!!!

MARY ROBERTS born in 1851 in Kirkby Lancs

married in 1868 to

JOHN ROBERTS of full age. poss born in Liverpool

By the time of the 1871 census, they would have had a daughter MARY ELLEN ROBERTS

Almost sure they would have been in the Liverpool/Bootles areas at the time of the 1871 census.

I have been unable to find them.

Would the problem be that that part of the Liverpool census could be missing for this date?

Fed up and far from home, Kathlyn
