thanks loads to everyone for all your suggestions...have been using Scotlands People but proving to be quite costly at £1.00 per view only to find out not correct ancestor...will try all the other recommendations...many thanks once again!

...can I only search the England and Wales census on this site?
...I am looking for Scottish ancestors so does this mean I must pay to use another Scottish records site for that searching?
