Sue, I have just tried to add a record to tree. I had to do it from the image as nothing happened when I tried to do it from the record. The tree I had been working on came up but when I clicked on My Trees , my other trees came up and I was able to select another tree, so I am not having the same problem with that.

Thanks for replies, it isn't just me then. It doesn't seem to make any sense that I am searching on one tree but Ancestry wants to add the search results to another tree....aaaargh!!

It wastes so much time.

I have just added a record from an image that I could not add from the record itself.

I have also corrected the surname using the Index underneath the image. This now shows the correct surname instead of the mistranscribed one but a search doesn't find it under the corrected surname! Preumably this will have to wait until an update is done.

Paul, I don't think it is to do with pop-up blockers. I usually get a message at the top of the screen when a pop-up is being blocked and I have just tried to add a record to somebody in my tree and there was no message.

I've had the occasional problem when you call up a record but cannot save it. I wonder if it's anything to do with any installed popup blocker.

I have been having problems attaching records as well. If it is record I have found by searching myself (ie not one brought up by searching historical records from somebody in one of my trees), clicking on Save just brings up the box with Add to Someone in your tree and goes no further. As most of these records are mistranscriptions I have got round the problem by temporarily changing the name in my tree to the mistranscribed name, searching from that person's profile and adding the record that way and then changing the name in the tree back.

I have also found that sometimes I can save the record by doing it from the image but this doesn't seem to work for all census years.

Also, the Add Alternative information doesn't seem to be working.

I am also finding that some searches are bringing up records in an odd order. Eg, searching for Sarah Jane Brown is bringing up all the Jane Sarah's before the Sarah Janes.

When I have found a record and want to attach it to someone in one of my trees I have had the same problem for months.

When I click 'save' it automatically calls up the same tree every time. When I call for the drop down box to change trees it won't accept the 'click to choose' instruction.

Can anyone help please?
