Hello,could anyone help, how do i apply for a birth certifcate if i dont no the day of the birth , i have the month and the year .regards Barbara

You need the volume and page numbers if you want to order on line for £7.
Whose birth are you looking for.

Hi Barbara,

Do you have the GRO reference for the birth? Is the person deceased? If so, and you havent got the GRO reference then put their details up and we can look for you. If they are still alive, it might be better to send a private message to one of us to get the details

Thank you, I'm trying to find the parent's of Henry South born poplar 1881, i have the page and vol number ,so i'll try that.

When you order from the GRO make sure you tick the box that asks if the GRO is known then they wont want to know the exact date of birth
You will only need to specify its a birth cert you want ,the name and the GRO ref
