Yes I was looking at Ancestry.

Will take ages to check out each one so I hope you book a long session at the library

So no middle name?

Must be at least 50 Pensions Records for Harry Wood and at least the same for Medal Cards

Service records are not really up to "W" except for those with name changes

Hi there folks,
Can anyone help me please. Looking for a Harry Wood possibly in the 1st world war, but could be 2nd. Rumour had it that he was in the force with general Allenby and went to egypt. Something to do with Earl Fitzwilliams. He was born in Rotherham and parents were Lucy and John Wood. Lived in Scholes Rotherham in the 1901 census. But also lived in Elsecar. Don't know if the rumour is true, don't know what regiment he would have been in.
thanks everyone tall order i know
