Mark - thanks for trying. I think the P Risboro baptist records are in my Local Records Office, just need to plan a trip. Helen

Hi Helen

I could not find your ancestors but don't be deterred, The non-conformists research on thegenealogist is always putting more details on every month. I find when been patient that i eventually find my ancestors.

I don't find it rude to ask,no harm in asking.

Christine, sorry to hijack your thread, but I wondered if I could be a bit cheeky and ask Mark if he would mind doing a look up for me.

We have not been able to find this couple / children in the parish registers (C of E):

James WALKER and Mary (surname unknown) - married approx. 1830 in / near Princes Risborough in Bucks or Cookham in Berks
Mary was born ca. 1811 in Cookham and family lived in Princes Risborough

Children:
Ann ca. 1833
Elizabeth ca. 1834
William ca. 1835
George ca. 1836
John ca. 1840
all born in Princes Risborough, Bucks

I am really looking for details of Mary's maiden name and James and/or Mary's parents if possible.

Please let me know if this is too much to ask.

Many thanks

Helen

Thank you both. Unfortunately this probably predates 1837. Mark I would be delighted if you could have a look for me. All I know comes from the 1841/51/61 censuses.

George Cooper born Islington, London c1809
m
Emily ? born Charlton Sussex c1809

they had a child in 1835, so it was (probably !) before that date. I certainly can't find it on FreeBMD.

Can anyone tell me if there is a free site for non-conformist marriages? I don't know if the marriage I am searching for was one of these or not, but can't find it anywhere else. I am reluctant to pay for credits when I am grasping at straws!
