Can someone tell me what info you get on an Irish birth cert (Republic not Northern Ireland)?
Are they like English with just the parents' names, or are they like Scottish with parent's marriage details too?

Thanks,
janice

Hi Janice, they are like England and death certs for children just give place of death and son/daughter of labourer or which occ the father had at time which is impossible to know when there is no census to go by, especially if the name is a common surname.
Regards,
Lily.
