Checked the page number on FMP. Think it should be 626 by comparing it with the number 18 on the entry beneath it.

when you order click on >yes to having reference number

then continue with name , place and number and nothing else, at the rate the post office is going it could be anyones guess when it arrives !

Looking at the original image, the last number is smudgy and could be mistaken for an 8 , I would phone them and see if that is what their problem is ?

Are you specifying his parents' names as a checking point when you order this cert? If they don't quite match they won't send the cert.

Just list his name and the GRO references and nothing more.

Have you looked for the GRO reference for his birth? You may be giving too much information because if something is even only slightly different on the certificate from what you give then they will not issue a certificate.

The best thing is just to give the name, year, qtr., district, volume number and page number (these can be found on FreeBMD).

Could he have been born before his parent's marriage and so registered in his mother's maiden name? (it happened a lot).

Put the details on here for the year and name and area and perhaps someone can check to see if the details you have match

Hi I have tried on 3 seperate times now to obtain a birth cert for my grandfather from the general birth death and marriage , each time have paid my £7.00 and received £4 back saying unable to find. I have got his correct date of birth his mothers maiden name and his fathers name and both parents dates of birth. I am confused as to why no records can be found, he is on the 1901 census, I also gave his place of birth has any one got any ideas as to how I can obtain a certificate. Thankyou in anticipation
