Im wondering if someone can tell me how i would find out who someones parents are? The person is scottish, born in scotland.
Im new to this . lol!

Also, try familysearch site (Mormons). It has lots of scottish births and marriages upto late 1800s and its free.

For Scotland, the parents names and maiden surnames are on BMD certs - for a d.cert, it's necessary that the informant knew these, and for b.certs, there's restrictions on entering father's names in illeg. births - they can only be entered if the father agrees and attends the registration.
