Hi everyone I am trying to find the birth of Josuah Richmond born c1849 in Skipton/Keighley area West Yorkshire. I came across him while looking for help with Martha Richmond born 1831 Crosshills. He is on the 1851 census along with Henry Spencer, Susannah (nee Richmond), Martha Richmond and Robinson Richmond brother of Susannah and Martha. But I have no information on who Josuah is? He cannot be the others brother as their mother died before he was born. I cannot find a record of Josuah's birth what is the best advice anyone can give about how to find it. He is recorded in 1871 1891, and 1901 census after his marriage

Could be an illegitimate son of one of the girls? It might be worth checking http://www.familysearch.org in case there is a christening for him there.

Saying that, I didn't spot him on there - there is one on the 1881 census born in Glusburn, Yorkshire, though.

Otherwise you might need to track down the parish records, which might be at York - I'm not sure on Yorkshire records.

Actually, there is this birth registration - the certificate might prove who his mother/father was one way or the other.
