Hello All
Its definitely Welsh Wales as I have welsh marriage certificates.
It looks like I'll have to make do with what I have, though I'll see if I can find out anything from marriage Banns as it would have been nice to find where they were actually living.

I know what you mean when you say addresses on marriage certs can be misleading as my Mum used her cousins address so she could also marry in the church she wanted.

I have a few marriage certificates where the couple both gave the same address. They were not usually living together but if they both gave the same address it meant they didn't have to have the banns read in both parishes.

On my marriage certificate I have the address of my bridesmaid so that I could marry in the church that I wanted to marry in.

Addresses on marriage certs were sometimes ones of convenience, or perhaps that of a friend..

My parents cert has two addresses where the never even resided, no mention of either of their real addresses. Apparently this was common in certain areas.

Yes, I have all the census records so far for the family. They are from London, Surrey and prior to that from Devon.
Anyway - 1911 census threw the spanner in the works as none of the family knew they had gone to Lincolnshire. All we were aware of was that they went from Croydon area in Surrey to Wales and when GtGrandad died the "'railways were good to Gt Grandma and she ran a hostel for the workers, first in Croydon area and then went to Wales" This ties in with the lodging house on the 1911 census - except that they are in Lincs.
We were told that Gtgrandma had a hostel for workers in Talgarth, Wales but nothing else.
I did a heap of digging and only came up with the 2 marriages as previously mentioned and also the son, George, who went to Flanders. We have no idea where they lived apart from'Talgarth' whcih is why I am curious.
Also my grandad was born in Peckham, and we have no real idea why he went to Wales apart from our thoughts on the previous note. WE don't even know where he was living when he married my nan.
However we do know that they were back in London, Tottenham, in 1917 has Lillian had her 2nd child there (first one was born inn Wales) and the death notice of George stated Tottenham as his address.
I would so be grateful for any ideas with this one

Have you found them on the 1911? In small villages often no mention is made of roads.

Hi all
Can anyone point me in the right direction.... My grandmother and also her sister were married in Wales but neither marriage cert has their address on it.
Lilian Mary Ann Eastmond married Joseph Thomas Reed in 1914 at Llyswen Parish Church, Breconshire., and Edith May Eastmond married John Edward Page at Parish Church of Talgarth, Breconshire in November 1915.
On both certificates it says Llyswen or Talgarth in the place of residence box for them. No street address for any of them!
Does anyone know if there is there a way which I can find out the street addresses or not.
