Hi everyone, trying to find some relatives on my husbands side, however I can only seem to find them on the 1851 census - cannot seem to find on any ohers or on BMD's

I have James Quinlan (aged 35 in 1851), wife Ann Quinlan aged 30, and three sons John aged 12, James aged 3 and Cornelius aged 1 - all of them born in Stratford (Cornelius is his grandfather) any help is appreciated

1861 census has 2 Cornelius Quinlands in a workhouse in Leyton, Essex, one was 12, the other 2, both born Stratford. There's also a Sarah Quinland, 33, born London and Ellen, 8, born Stratford.

I have found Cornelius marriage to Norah Hurns (think on the census for 1891 it is Norah and not Sarah) , O/N/D 1878 in Shoreditch - however on the Ancestry website it says that the spouse is Cornelius and "other" James, does anyone know what is meant by "other"?

Also the marriage on BMD confirms her name as Burns not Hurns?

Any ideas??

Cornelius Quinlan (29, widower, Labourer of ?14? Wilmer Street, son of James Quinlan, also a lab) married Norah Burns (28, widow, Charwoman, same address, d.of Charles Bryan, also lab) at St.Leonards in Shoreditch 12th Oct 1878.
Witnesses were Henry Wilton and Isabella Parker
