What is a Lide Lawyer??

I have just found my great uncle Walter Edwards on the 1911 census and his occupation is given as Lide Lawyer. Does anyone have any idea of what that might be please? Thanks for your input.

is it the transcription or the actual image? Sometimes handwriting mistranscribed . Have you tried 'googling' the term?

It was the transcription...I was at the end of my credits and only had enough left for that not the image. I guess I will have to fork out some more cash so I can check! LOL.
I did google the term, came up with a whole lot of lawyers named Lide!!!

Just a thought. Frequently S and L are mistranscribed. I wonder if its side sawyer

You can search the 1911 census using advanced search and entering occupation.

Thank you both for your help, those are all definitely him. I thought it a little strange he should be a lawyer as they were not generally at that level of education. A sawyer is much more likely, although the first in the family that I have come across. Thanks again Quinsgran and Ozibird.
