Bermondsey district changed 1.1.1870 so thats the difference in the registration district for them

Thanks for your thoughts on this Heather and Shirley, maybe the vicar had so many baptisms that day that he wanted to get home for his tea.

I do not have the birth certs for this pair as they are quite off to the left of the tree, but as this is the tree of a friend, i wanted him to have correct, as far as possible, information.

That's what is says, but guess it must be a mistake by the vicar and maybe Fred was born July 1870 and they had a joint baptism for them
You can check them on census or have you found birth certs for them

Well I think youll find the clerk got confused. He even has the wrong name crossed out for the elder boy.

I think you can rest assured the second boy - Fred - was born in July 1870 - they were baptised 31 July that year. You can always check it out on freebmd for the cert ref.

Please will someone check the following for me on Ancestry`s new London BMD

FREDERICK GEORGE BEAR & HARRY WILFRED BEAR
Baptised 31.7.1870 in Bermondsey. They are brothers but the birth dates are puzzling

Frederick`s birth date is given as 13.7.1869

Harry`s as 8.2.1869
