Hi,
have you looked at local newspapers of the time ?
Sometimes you will find a crime reported there as I did for my gg grandfather

Researching:
sims,Hale,Hamer,Wilkinson,Terry,Stinton,Nash,Connor

I'd appreciate any tips on how to start looking for a criminal record. I know the crime, know it was committed during 1939 - 1947, I know the individual and where they lived at that time and that the individual went to jail.

Sounds like a lot when I put it down like that but I can't find anything so I must be looking in the wrong place !

Any help/ ideas would be appreciated.
