Hi Netty. Thanks so much for looking this up for me - I really appreciate it. Now I can go ahead and order my first certificate!!

Hi Evelyn, found this on Rootschat, hope it helps a little, i've never ordered an Irish cert myself.

The form from the GRO is not really designed for order using the index details - just fill in the the following details on the form wherever you can fit them (or attach on a separate note)

Name
record type (e.g marriage)
registration district
year/quarter (older records dont require a quarter)
volume number and page

dont worry about the PPS number - it's is the tax/social security reference number - not required for research certs.

I am filling out a form requesting copy of a marriage cert. from the GRO Ireland and I am supposed to put in the PPS number. This is the first time I have done this and I have no idea what it means. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.
