Out of Wedlock Births in Scotland

I am tryin to track down the birth of James Vance Barr born 1850ish in Lanarkshire Scotland. His marriage certificate 30.12.1973 states his age as 23. His parents are John Vance and Margaret Vance, M. S Barr.

I beleive he was born out of wedlock as the only record i can find relating to his parents marriage is 1852

Can someone help me track down James Vance Barr's d.o.b

What information have you dated 1852?

Does this is suggest he was born before parents married?
