I would appreciate any tips or ideas on this... I've found my grt grt grandparents & children in the 1891 census. I've also found them in BMD Birth & marriage index. But there is no trace of them before 1891 in any census. This is what I have:
CHARLES GEORGE RUSHMER b: 1846 Norwich
MARIA THOMPSON b: 1846 Norwich
Married: 1865 Norwich (cross ref Rushmer - Thompson ok)
I find them and their kids in the 1891 census in Norwich west wymer - they have 7! But i can't find Maria or Charles in any previous census despite being born in 1846. Any ideas?

That's great! Thanks. So why can't I find these entries on GR? I just tried a search again but don't find those listed below. Is this the Rushmer name evolving from Rushman / Rushmore we see? I presume errors in notation create these name changes.

Paul, it's not you - I couldn't find them until I just put Rushmer and the birth dates for some reason! I find ancestry sometimes only wants minimal info or it messes me about!

I agree with Janet. Sometimes Ancestry gives me 'no match' with too much info.

I used Rush*, date and Norwich as a keyword.
