I was delighted to find my great grandparents whereabouts on the 1911 and 1901 census's but can not find them before this can anyone help me please

William was born in 1857 in Llansantffraid Montgomery
they lived in Llanfyllin in 1911
Haven't found marraige would they be registered inn the two seperate names at that time and I would have to link them

Have you got birth certs for any of the children? This would give you their Jane's maiden name. With a name like Smith their are likely to be many possible marriage.

If you know Jane's maiden name, you can search on freebmd using both surnames.

Karen as Potty said you really need a birth cert which will give you the mother's maiden name

Thankyou all so much, sorry for delay been working long shifts, Jessie was my grandmother , she was Jessie on her birth certificate . these are so helpful , my great grandmother was Jane Davies and lived at Battlefield
