Birth Entry is it right?

Found in familysearch.org and also in a tree on Ancestry, Charles William Broughton, born 10th August, Walworth, London England.
He is my 2x great grandfather. I have looked everywhere to try and get the Volume and page number, but cannot find any entry of his birth anywhere. I do not want to put the above in my tree until I can get a certificate to make certain that the above information is correct. Sometimes submitters can get it wrong.
I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Certainly not to be trusted as is, as it is a submitted record, which means no backing documentation!

You will not be able to get a certificate as he was born before registration began in England and Wales on July 1 1837.

You need to find the parish register for his baptism .......... that will tell you the date he was baptized but not his date of birth unless the vicar made a note in the register as to the date.

I have been looking on the London records, and cannot see the birth of a Charles William or Charles Broughton with father James and mother Elizabeth Markwick, during the period 1833 +/- 1 years

I also looked for baptisms wit hfather Jame sBroughton, mother Elizabeth ..... nothing that seems to fit yours.

I also looked to see if I could find a marriage in the eyars 1830+/- 10 years .... searching both on James Broughton and Elizabeth Markwick .... nothing.

have you made contact with the owner of the tree on ancestry to see if they can provide some definitive information?? ..................... it's quite possible that they just took the information from familysearch.

Walworth then would have come under Surrey, not London.

There is nothing for Broughton in the IGI batch for Walworth baptisms or marriages.

Have you found him in the 1841 census?

Thanks for your reply's, I think I will have to start over again.Maybe he wasn't from that area after all. The birthdate is probably wrong as well!
Goes to show that it pays to check and double check before adding to tree.

If he is your ancestor then you must have him in a census.
Give us the census that you have and we will trace him back.
1881??
Charles Broughton Sarah abt 1834 Dorking, Surrey, England Head Sutton, Surrey
1851
Charles Broughton John,

He Married twice in New Zealand. He had a son with his first wife.
Married again to my Great great grandmother and their first son was born in 1856
.So if he is in any census n England,it should be 1841, but I haven't been able to find him there either? So who Knows!

so have you managed to find when he left the UK?

Is it possible that he left England before the 1841 Census?
