Workhouse census

If you google Peter Higginbottom Workhouse
this is a really good site for help, censuses etc.

Census's were taken in all the workhouse's and they are found with in the normal way, but bear in mind that their name may be mis-spelt or they may be mistranscribed, also on some institutions they were not entered in the name column as John Smith but just J S

They are usually in the census. Like to give a name and place of birth and year of birth and I'll have a look? In the meantime, explore here -

Hi, I cannot find my relative who was in the workhouse in 1881. Can anybody help as to where I would find workhouse registers, or can anybody tell me why they aren't in the normal census?
