I'm led to believe that there is an on line phone directory called 'White Pages' which may help, but there is a fee.

It does help if they have an uncommon name.

A lot of California records are on Ancestry, otherwise try zabasearch, people-data.com, anywho.com

Does this site work for America? I know we have 411 for Canada and they've just improved it. It gives you not only the address and telephone number but also a map which pinpoints exactly where you live.

Thank you. I am looking for my great grand mother and great uncles whom I know emigrated to Oakland area during the 1950s. I think David Leslie Carter could be in a vetrans' war cemetry. I will try your recommended sites. Thank you to all.
