Thank you all who helped on my Plested question earlier in the week.

Following on from that, I found that Thomas 1793 had a son, Thomas 1818 who married Jane Sarah Green

Following Thomas I found that in 1891 he was aged 72 and staying with his 70 year old son in law, Joseph Febik (Fibik), together with Jane Sarah and Joseph's stepson Frederich C Hamsher (Hansherr), Jane S Hansherr married Joseph Fibik in 1879.

Going back from that I found Sarah Jane Plested married Carl L F A Hansherr Sept ¼ 1866.

I Could not find the Hansherrs on the census However when I looked at Joseph Fibik on the 1871, I found Jane Hausherr living next door with two children, Charles and Maud age 7 months, but Maud died soon after. Jane is given as wife, husband a ?Glass maker? Joseph Fibik was a cabinet maker.

I can't find Carl anywhere or another possible daughter, Grace, 1867, who's death was registered in Dec ¼ 1871.

It is interesting that most of the people on that page are cabinet Makers, with an odd Silversmith, Hatmaker, sculptor and a Retired Cavalry Officer, a bit different from my usual ag labs. It is also interesting that a good number of them are from abroad, Germany, Austria, Prussia, France, Poland, East Indies.

Are these the sort of People who would be in a trade directory? But I suppose they may not be in Charlotte Street as it seems to be lodging houses.

Any ideas how can I find Carl and Grace?

Thanks

Yes that is the correct family, the second husband (Joseph Fibik) who Jane married eight years later was next door, above her in the census..

And yes that is Grace on the 1871. How did I miss that? I must have looked at it and not connected Grace with Jane. I wonder what happened to father, Carl. Grace died later that year according to FreeBMDs.

Thanks again for that.
