I noticed on the 71 census that his sister Bridget is living with them. She was born 1850, Skipton, Yorkshire. I believe this is her:
1861 census
Union Square, Skipton, Yorkshire
Patrick Gallagher, head, 50, tinner & brazier, born Ireland
Bridget, wife, 40, born "
Bridget, dau, 12, operative cotton spinner, born Yorks, Skipton

Is the birth year 1838 as you say 1938.

i am trying to trace the above. Born Durham, Newcastle 1838ish, appears on the 1871 census but nothing before then?? Any help would be appreciated fairly new to this so not sure where to look.
