Mystery John Buckland b 1775

I have a mystery on my hands, I have a John Buckland b 1775 or 1777 (depending on which record you look at) in Nutfield Surrey. I have two marriage records for him both to women named Sarah. one is Sarah Bashford one is Sarah Inwood. I accept he could have been married twice but the birth dates of the children overlap with the marriage dates.

my direct relation is michael buckland b 1824 in Nutfield. i have him in the 1851 census living with parents john and sarah and sister Ann also nephew charles tidy.

What im confused with then is how do i find out if my john buckland did marry both these sarahs or if there were two john bucklands in nutfield at the time?

John Buckland married Sarah Inwood in 1799

John Buckland married Sarah Bashford in 1814 both in Nutfield.

i am discounting a secret marriage and family as both are registered in Nutfield.

So there were either 2 john bucklands orrr he had 2 families?!

I have this as his birth and it is the only john buckland i can find at the right age and place but i havent been able to check ancestry etc.

any ideas?

As you & Jim have noted, these 2 men were christened in Nutfield.

Gender: Male Christening: 11 JUL 1790 Nutfield, Surrey, England

It's quite logical that No. 1 may have married Sarah Inwood, and No. 2 married Sarah Bashford. What evidence do you have that they are the same man?

you are both quite right, it was another researcher that led me to believe that the John Bucklands were in fact the same man.
thank you so much for your help. i had spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to work it out, a brick wall had well and truly been built in my head!
