Lots of sites assume that you use Outlook Express.

It is possible to link Outlook Express into some Web based emails but it does involve some twiddling with your settings, I don't see any advantage in it unless you prefer Outlook for some particular reason.

I always do as Janet does and copy the address into my normal email, I figure the simplest solutions are usually the best!

Best wishes,

Mayfield.

This seems to indicate that you were previously using Wanadoo (Now Orange) for your emails and ISP.

You can remove the branding from the top of your browser but it won't change the email defaults. It is possible that your old Wanadoo account is still held within Outlook Express and deleting this might solve you problem.

I no longer have Outlook Express as I have moved over to Windows Live Mail, but perhaps there is someone else out there who could walk you through the process.

Thankyou very much for your replies.

In answer to the last question I use Tiscali to send emails.

You could try:-

1) Tools (top of browser)
2) Internet options
3) Programs
4) email <<<<<<< choose type of email account you wish to use.

To remove ISP branding read this:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ie/ispunbrand.htm

or just Google "ISP branding"

Hi Jan

Yes I do that as well, but I have just joined a relations site and he needs a username and password to get in. When the box comes up for me to fill in my details it just wont send. I think it must be to do with 'wanadoo' but I don't know how to get rid of it.
Im hoping someone can tell me.

Best Wishes Carole xx

I can never send those either. I just copy the email address and send one as usual.

Hi All

When I go on a site and the auto email box comes up from Outlook Express (for me to contact them) I can never send it. An error message always comes up.
It starts as if it's sending saying send message using 'pop.wanadoo' then the error comes up 'the connection to the server has failed
Account 'pop.wanadoo.co.uk'
Server: SMTP.wanadoo.co.uk
Protocol SMTP port 25 secure(SSL)
No. Socket Error 10061
Error NO...........

I don't know what any of this means it's complete gobbledegook to me!
I vaguely remember we were with wanadoo at some stage.
I can send emails fine through my service provider which is Tiscali.
It's stopping me entering some family sites where they need a username and password. As soon as I fill the box in that pops up it just wont send.
At the top of my pages it says Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Wanadoo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thankyou.
