I searched for Valentine Unsworth on 1911 census with no hits. I then searched for his daughter who had appeared on the 1910 census as a baby and when I viewed the image her father was with her.

So in answer to your question I think that the 1911 census is not very accurate.

The transcription spelling of my g grandfather's surname just beggared belief. Luckily I knew his address so found him.

It might be worth searching on the addresses from the 1901 returns in the hope they have not moved by 1911.

Best of luck

Diane, have nudged Jonesey's thread to top of this board - good advice on searching 1911.

A tip - it seems to dislike too much info. Avoid birthplaces unless the names are so common you have no choice.
Try variants on names, 1st names only etc etc.

I have to wonder if the 1911 census is fully and accurately transcribed.

I have been looking for 2 different family's on the 1911 census totally unrelated.

1st Fuller
2nd Willoughby

The first have appeared together on all other census from 1891 with more or less the same dates of birth and place of birth,
no name changes at all ,so a family that recorded well you might say.

But I can find none of them on the 1911 census, they may well be spread about a bit at this stage, one may even have died for all I know, but I know for fact that at least 3 are still living with no new, or remarriage taking place.
So why I can not find them is a beyond me.
I have tried ever way possible with no luck.

The second family, well a couple really have not appeared on any, so no surprise there.
I do know that she died in August 1911 so would have thought she may be on the census of the year.

Has any one had problems like this or is it just bad luck on my part.

Diane
