EDIT: beware messages from Softsoldier - it is a scam and might infect your computer.

Original post:
HELP! Our other computer has suddenly comeup with messages that we have computer viruses. We are running something called Soft Soldier as recommended which says it has found over 700 so far. PC guard has found nothing.
This soft soldier occasionally says our computer is being attaked, do we want to block this - if we say yes it asks us to but the pack.
Is this to be trusted? Does anyone have a clue what is going on?

Any advice most gratefully received - thank you.

Try going to remove software and remove it. It looks like one of them accidental downloads that tries to get you to purchase their software package.

Failing that - if it has only just happened re-set you computer to an earlier setup by a day or so.

Have google-search - this is a scam. to infect computer and make you buy their product.
Unfortunately we have let it in. What can I do??? Will it do any harm?

Hi Janet:

Sounds as if you have spyware on your PC - not a virus (so AVG and other anti-virus programs won't remove it.) Although spyware and viruses are two different animals both can be just as damaging as the other. To remove spyware try using this program which we use in our PC shop:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

The program is free to use. Download and install the program, run an UPDATE and then have the program run a scan - follow the prompts at the end of the scan to remove whatever it has found.

I second Judy's recommendation: from past experience she knows what she is talking about and our own computer engineer used Malware-bytes to gives ours a good clean-out.
