Hi can any1 help me find out about my grandad who was Harold Davey who married my gran Violet A M M Burt the last quarter of 1937 i think, Truro cornwall vol 5c page 357, im trying to find his birth cert but dont no anything about him, when & where he was born etc I no Violet was 25 sept 1911 but nothing on him.

If you get their marriage cert it will tell you his age and hopefully his fathers name which will help you go back further on him

A possibility but you need to check his age against the marriage cert

Janice i dont no anything about Harold just his wedding because I found out some info on my Grans side.

Anne the marriage certificate may well tell you his [true] age - but it might also just say "of full age" meaning over 21.

There is never any guarantee that the age is right either - it is just the age they have chosen to tell the Vicar!

If your grandfather died after Sept qt 1969 his date of birth will be on the reg index

They did away with putting "of full age" on marriage certs in the mid 1800,s so a marriage in 1937 will state an age.

there are 3 deaths post 1983 in Cornwall

Harold Davey born 10 Aug 1900
Dec 1985 85 Stratton Cornwall


Harold Davey born 24 Nov 1907

Thanks Rutland for the Dates of deaths of 3 harolds, will have to look into it, I never met the man and he was never mentioned, maybe they separated.
