No, I found it a waste of money. I'm downgrading to Essentials at the end of the month.

As mentioned there are other free and better sources of information.

If your looking for census records ancestory is great but for births deaths and marriages any data they have is often available from a free source and you can go directly to it.

There are various organisations that index these records. Two to start with are freeBMD and the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons).

For records after 1837 freeBMD is the best place to go, before that, as in this case, the LDS site at http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Search/frameset_search.asp has the vast majority of records indexed.

The LDS can provide some additional information even after 1837.

many thanks, the details I are the christening took place at st pancras ol church in 1825 child was william james drummond parants catherine and james hope drummond

if you only want a christening look up let me have the details and I will take a look for you


If you are researching a lot of records eg birth marraige death ww1 army etc then yes well worth the money found lots on there.

Before I break the bank and renew my ancestry sub can any one tell me if they think the premium sub is worth it. I am anxious to look at a christening of one of my rellies and see if there are any other names on there other then the parants, I know its there but I am not "allowed" to open it as I only have the essential sub, so is the upgrade worth it.
