Mary I think Debs is referring to this clause:-

6. Fair Usage Policy for Subscribers
6.1 To ensure a high quality service for all customers, we enforce a “Fair Usage Policy” for Users with a Subscription whereby we place a cap on use of the Services. We have set the current use limit at an average of no more than 5000 Credits per month over a rolling three month period.

6.2 We may revise our Fair Usage Policy from time to time and will advise you of any changes made.

6.3 If you exceed the Fair Usage Policy limits, We reserve the right to invoice you retrospectively for all Credits used at the rate of 12 pence per Credit and to suspend or terminate your use of the Services

I think if you just do your own research and not look ups for others then it is more than adequate. I have taken out a 6 mths sub and have no problems.

I have downloaded and saved the images to my computer for future perusal

I'd try again, later, Mary.

Perhaps it's just a glitch

Its gone through now, signed up fpr 12 months.
I thought you would just go through normal 1911 site but you don't,you have to go to Findmypast site.It doesn't seem as easy now,on 1911 site you could view what you had paid for as many times as you wanted to.
Have I made a mistake by subscribing, maybe so.

Just a quick question - do you have to subscribe through FMP? I thought you could subscribe through the 1911 site as well, perhaps not. Also that on the 1911 site you didn't have to save the images to your computer each time as you were not charged more than once for looking at them again. Perhaps I've got this wrong. I'm thinking of subscribing as well for 6 months, so wanted to know the best way of doing it.

Mary B and Sue.
The easiest way to not get charged to view again is to download them to your computer,

I signed up through FMP as they had sent me an E.Mail about it.If you go to 1911 census it then sends you to FMP.

As Joan says, the two sites will remain separate. They will also use completely independent search engines and FMP have pointed out that you may get differing results when searching against each of the sites.

Look forward to some lively debates on here in the coming months as to why is my great grand dad on one but not the other?.....!

And my grandma is on neither.....:'-(

................ and yes it does seem that if you susbcribe through fmp, nothing is saved on the site so you will be charged again to look at a transcript or image that you have already looked at.

Easy enough to say save it to your computer ...... but what if it is an image that you have discounted for some reason, then realise that it might actually be of itnerest??

On the 1911 site, it would be there ready for you to look at again. On fmp, you would have to use more credits to look at it again.

Me?

I'm staying with the 1911 and pay per view!!!
