Have just come across the Baine's Directory of Southport for 1825 on the Southport World website. Might be of interest to somebody -

There are, actually - four of them! One is said to be a pilot and another a grocer and auctioneer.

Just checked this site out because my in laws are from Southport. What a shame it seemed to die some time ago. Lots of local families listed, Mawdsleys, Rimmers and Heskeths etc.

Southport classes itself as a Victorian seaside town. I used to live about 4 miles from there.

I now live about 4 miles from another Victorian seaside town, this time in North Wales.
