You would be correct on that Hawkwind but at this stage there are no patches for previous versions and vista is engineered totally different to W7 but there is an XP emulation mode on W7 which may enable older versions to work but at this point in time it is not tried and tested - ergo being Certified. This was just a general comment for people to check their versions on being compatible before jumping in feet first.

I think that what you may have been told, is that the previous versions may not be supported by Windows 7, as they haven't been fully tested, and so no certification has been given. . This does not necessarily mean they will not work in Windows 7, but rather there is no guarantee.

I suspect that previous versions may still work in Windows 7, possibly with the VISTA patch as VISTA and 7 are not a million miles apart. .

There should be no problem with 2008 or 2009 which were released as VISTA compatible in the first place.

If you Google there are some forums on the topic but nothing conclusive as yet, at least until someone tries it out.

Have checked with the FTM company and the only version of FTM certified for use with Windows 7 at this stage is ver. 2010.

Windows 7 will do an emulation mode of XP but whether that helps with older versions of FTM that was not stated.

They did not mention any plans to release patches to have later versions of FTM i.e. 08 or 09 work with Windows 7.
