Thanks for all your replies, I did manage to spend a couple of hours at Stafford Record Office and on the off chance asked about the years I needed and St Austins and luckily they said that they did have them at that record office. I wasnt expecting to find them there as it said on the internet they were at Birmingham, and missing some years.

I did find a lot of information, including the baptism of Frances Kearns and most of her siblings.

Thanks again for your advice.

I asked a church member about the entry.
It is not a parish record.
It is a member submitted entry in 2009.
It is waiting for a baptism then will become a sealing for the dead!!???

Thank you Jim and Sylvia, I have done that, do I order a film number to view at my local record office and how do I go about it, do I email them. Sorry if I sound a bit `dumb`, not done this on IGI before.

There is another branch which I need to verify in this way, maybe I could sort that at the same time.

Thanks for you help

Thanks Jim, not sure I understand all that but Birmingham Diocesan Archives does not hold the dates I require. I have just emailed the church or someone relating to the church, maybe they can help.

Thanks for helping

Lou, thanks for that I will have a look for my local office and look into it.

Andrew, yes that is the family in the 1851, although I can only find Farrell etc. inthe 1851 and 1871 census, both in St Marys Stafford. St Austins church is a Catholic church although Frances married in Manchester Cathedral a lot complicated. I will have to search the St Marys area churches on the off chance if I can get to Stafford Record Office sometime. Thanks for looking.

The family from 1851?

I think St Austins is a Catholic parish. Might it be worth trying the Catholic History Society?
Also have you tried Stafford Records Office? I've used them several times and found them very helpful.

Hi Marilyn, As far as I am aware you can order the register from the LDS and view them in your local centre. Don't know if this helps or not.

Hi, just wondered if anyone could help. After years of searching I have come across a baptism (birth not registered) of one of my ancestors Frances Kearns, daughter of Fabiani Kearnes and Mariae Grenham 19 APR 1840 St Austin'S,Forebridge Near, Stafford, Stafford, England on the IGI

I was hoping that the original parish records were going to be available at some recordoffice but unfortunately after finding the church records werelocated at Birmingham Archives, the years I am interestedin aremissing. They only have 1804 to 1831 and 1858 to 1891.

There is a batch number which gives a few more siblings but no source is given.

Does anyone know what is my next step to get this information, would it be available anywhere, I am interested in the years 1825 to around 1850 baptisms.

I thought I was getting somewhere at last.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Marilyn
