Hi everyone, a very kindly soul helped me find records for my family and gave Borders vol and page number for several references but i can't find them for myself to search further. Will i find these in Scotland or England?

The info from 1914-1938 i received is dead right no doubt about it with ref. to Borders but i find it strange that births deaths and divorces given were for family in Carlisle born and bred which has been English for quite some time (scotish previously).

Any insight would be much appreciated as to where i now look.

The Border registration district started in Dec 1937 and ran until 1974. It covered Cumberland.

If you go to freebmd and search for All Types and put in Date range Dec 1937 to Dec 1937 and select Border as the District, click on Border in one of the records that comes up and then click on "here" for more information, it will bring up a list of the places covered.

freebmd is not yet complete for 1914-1938 so you may not find all the entries you want on there. Do you want to post some details?
