A child's death cert has them as son or daughter of, in the occupation column

Thanks for that i think i will look up the local paper at the time of the inquest and see if it was recorded hopefuly it was

I know who the babys mother was i was just wondering why her name was not on the certificate as well,and if she would have been mentioned at the inquest

Children's death certs dont name the mother ,the children are described as son or daughter of the fathers name.You should be able to find the birth which will give both parents names, Inquest records are very few and far between and often no longer exist .

I have a death certificate for a baby who died aged 15 months the baby died 1915
on the the certificate it has the fathers name but not the mothers name there was an inquest for the death is it possible to look up the inquest and find out if the mothers name is mentioned
