I have women who was called Martha McDermid born 18/01/1911 and was told she was born in Ireland.
I sent away for her birth cert and was told there was no record for her.
She gave up some children in between 1930-1935 and i have been in touch with social services and they told me the 1st child she gave away was under the name of Martha Cunningham as the mother, 2 years later she had another son and she was using the name McDermid. Then i found out Marthas mum and dad did not marry and there names were Margaret Cunningham and the dad was James Mcdermid and he died at the age of her being 8 in world war 1. I was wondering if anyone can find her as i was told she was born in Ireland then moved to Scotland when she was about 8 or 9. Her mother later married a Jimmy Porter and thats all i know. Thanks i know thats alot to ask but someone out there might be able to help. Debbie
