Well they wont be on the Family Search site as the Catholic Church wont release their data to the Mormons.
I think Catholic records are kept within the individual church and not sent to any local records Office. If you have an area where you know family lived it may be worth googling for the Catholic Churches in that area and enquiring direct,
We married in the Catholic Church and i know when our daughter was having her children christened her local church's went back to the church we married and daughter was christened for confirmation !! that we had been married there etc and to ask for permission to christen our grandchildren in their areas .
Grandson was born Wiltshire and grandaughter in Germany as SIL was in the Army

I have seen some records of Hampshire Catholic baptisms in the Record Office in Winchester, ...not many though.

It's not true of the church in general - there are catholic records on the LDS site(s). I think the decision was made at a lower level - maybe the diocese or even the parish.
To cite a couple of UK examples in the IGI:
c191291 is Edinburgh RC Cathedral
c080701 is Tynemouth RC Church
In addition to these, there are unindexed images of all Quebec parish registers pre-1900 online on the LDS pilot site, but outside the IGI

Hi Jean,
Each Catholic Diocese in England and Wales should have a diocesan archivist who will know where records are kept. Some have been released to local archive offices, others are held by individual parishes. It's up to the priest of any particular parish to give access to registers. I will look up West Ham and get back to you if that's any help?
Shelagh.

I have done a few lookup in Catholic registers in Lancs rceord office and am amazed at the amount of information recorded on some of them - a genealogists dream. the only thing I have found to beat it for information are some police records.

Incidentally, some RC registers give the names in Latin - there's a translation crib at:
