I use Cumberland Family Tree and this has a fix relationships tool

Shirley, just as an aside, although GR will accept a gedcom without complaining, it won't necessarily display certain types of multiple relationships as you might expect.

Brothers marrying sisters, for example, look rather odd on my tree.

Another one of those brain teasers!

Which family tree programme do you use?

I use Family Tree Maker which works out posers like these for me.

As I see it, the nephew and his wife aren't related to each other; nor are either of them related (by blood) to both of your grandparents.

you cant on the Genes tree as its not programmed for family marriges like cousins marrying .you will have to enter them twice and make a note on each of the relationship. If you have another family tree programme like FTM which you can show such marriages then you can upload the info as a gedcom file and Genes will accept it

Whilst tree programs such as FTM will handle multiple relationships, GR's tree can't.

You will have to enter the person twice. Put a cross reference in the notes box for each so that someone looking at your tree is aware.

Does anyone know how I show a relative who is related twice? My grandmothers nephew married my grandfathers sister. Thanks
