I have my Gt Grandmother's birth cert which says she was born in Gibraltar in 1871 to Sgt Henry White, of the RE, and his wife Emily.
I would like to find out if she had siblings and also who Henry and Emily's parents were. Can anyone t ell me where to start looking for this info please?

If you have not found them on any census returns, the regiment records are probably held at Kew. Some of these will show how many children they had and where he was based at any given quarter,

Thank you. How do I access the records? Can it be done online or do I have to write for the info. ( As you can probably tell, I'm a complete novice)!

You will need to go to the National Archives at Kew or ask somebody to do it for you. You can check their catalogue:-

If you give details of where the family settled if they were in the UK or wherever than the census records are searchable online.

The birth will probally be listed in the overseas and Army records..these can be searched at.

findmypast.com..fee payable,,

but someone on site could have a subcription to the site so do another seperate post on the Records board,,,,,,asking for an birth lookup.it may give no more than a birth registration.
