You can't copy directly. You download your tree from GR (it comes to you as gedcom file in an attachment in an email to your registered em addy)

Save the gedcom on your pc, say on your desktop.

Then log into Ancestry and run the import option, which will prompt you to select the file you want to load.

To move a file from Ancestry to GR is exactly the same except the tfr from Ancestry will download to your pc directly, rather than be sent to you. Again follow the GR import prompts, selecting the file you have just brought in.

Scroll down to the bottom of the Genes screen and click on "Import/export gedcom" and follow the instructions. I have never done it myself but I understand it is quite straightforward.

just signed up for the ancestory site, can i upload my genes tree to save doing it again, if so can anyone advice on how i do this please?
