There is a death in 1906 for a Walter John Walker who died in Hackney aged 39 in the march qrtr. It seems to be the only one between 1901 and 1920 showing on free bmd that is in the approx location and age.

hi jonesey, thanks for all your help this is all very strange all appear on 1901 census nothing for any of them on the 1891 & 1911 census, im so fed up about this as it looks like i will have to give up on this side of my family, which is a great shame as Elizabeth (my nan) was really close to me as i did'nt really know my other grandparents. Thanks to all who have helped try and solve this mystery

Have you found your nan on any census?

Oh Blimey. A different father on the birth than on the marriage.

I suspect a mistake somewhere.

So, Christie, you have your nan's marriage certificate, 1920, married to who? And her father is James Albert Walker (deceased) fishmonger. Who is the groom and what are his details. Where?

Your nan (can you give us her name please?), was born 1896, with a father Walter Walker. Where?

Not right is it?

Please give us the info, and let us try to help.

Margaret

hi jonesey, my dad said she did, but i can't find him. trouble is the father on my nans birth cert in 1896 is walter walker but on her marriage cert of 1920 its down as james albert walker (deceased) fishmonger, so i thought i would try and find him that way

glitter baby, how do you do this search?

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 14 Nov 2009 21:30

No results for James Walker with occupation of fishmonger on 1901 National Archives.

Think you are going to have a job finding this person without some idea of his year of birth etc.

Yes

1901 on National Archives and Findmypast

1891 on Findmypast

But on Findmypast you must include another search field

1881 which is free to search

Scottish census 1841 - 1901 on Ancestry

Might be easier to put who you are looking for
